Hi ho, hi ho, back to the 218 I go!

After Tom and Emily's intimate wedding near Laporte, Minn., on June 6th, Emily texted me asking if I had any openings for a wedding on July 26th. Her coworker Meghan had suddenly found herself without a photographer for her big day, and after confirming that that particular weekend was open for me, I talked to Meghan and got to know her a little bit. A few weeks later, I packed my bags, gave Sam a kiss goodbye, told the cows not to be too mean to Sam while I was gone, and headed back to northern Minnesota to capture Meghan and Nick's nuptials.

Meghan and Nick were together for six years on the day that they tied the knot. Both of them are unique, kind, and laid-back individuals with great senses of humor and killer taste in 80s music (more on that later), and even though I was initially nervous about taking wedding photos for a couple I'd never met before, I left Bemidji that afternoon feeling like I'd known them my entire life. They got married at a gorgeous venue tucked in a meadow and surrounded by a forest northwest of Bemidji, and we spent the day surrounded by the beauty that that part of Minnesota is famous for.

Meghan's friend and coworker Brandi did all the makeup, and we ladies had a blast as we all pretended I wasn't there taking pictures and making 'that's what she said' jokes. Her friends Rachael and Jenny were her bridesmaids, and Nick's brother Michael and Meghan's brother Brendan stood beside the groom. After a turn of events, Nick's dad stepped up to officiate the ceremony - how special is that when you can perform your own child's wedding?! I also really enjoyed getting to know Meghan's grandpa, who was a dairy farmer for 35 years.

After an especially sweet first dance with her husband and dad, Meghan surprised everyone with one of the greatest one-hit wonders of the 1980s that got everyone on the dance floor. When Meghan was a kid, the DJs at 103.7 knew the Frenzels on a first-name basis for calling every Thursday night during 80s night and requesting "Tarzan Boy" by Baltimora. I consider myself a connoisseur of 80s music and I'd never even heard that deep cut before their wedding. Needless to say, I'll be bopping along to it for the rest of my life and thinking of Meghan and Nick every time I play it on Spotify.

Thank you so much for the opportunity to get to know you, Mr. and Mrs. Oberpriller! Best wishes for a happy, healthy, loving, and eternal marriage.
