Wow, what a month!

June was, by far and away, the busiest month I've had yet as a photographer. Now that I have some down time to catch up on other aspects of the business and, ya know, be 'just a farmer' for a few days, I am slowly getting back into blogging on the website because 1) I want to introduce you all to my clients beyond their photos and 2) writing was my first love and I don't want to get out of practice.

Let's meet the Anderson gals, Roslind and Riley, today!

Roslind and her sister, Riley, call Hager Hill Swiss and Holsteins their home along with their parents, Jeremy and Dulcie. The farm, located atop Hager Hill just minutes from the Mississippi River near Hager City, Wisconsin, is the reason why Roslind and Riley both decided to take their love for dairying to another level. Both girls are representing Wisconsin as dairy royalty this year, with Roslind serving the Wisconsin Holstein Association as princess attendant and Riley being chosen as queen of the Wisconsin Brown Swiss Association.

We had a fun morning together along with Roslind's Holstein heifer, Shenanigans, and Riley's Brown Swiss heifer, Elite. Both girls donned their sashes and crowns for the shoot, along with Riley's dirndl, a traditional Swiss dress that she wears at Brown Swiss shows and events.

It began to get a little warm in the bright summer sun, and since (fun fact!) cattle can't sweat, Elite and Shenanigans started to get a little cantankerous. We used that as our cue to switch gears. After taking the heifers back to their pasture, the girls swapped out their dresses for business professional. Jeremy even took a short break from chores to hop in for some shots!

Most importantly, we had fun!

Roslind and Riley were very sweet and easygoing, and it was a pleasure to work with the entire family. Thank you so much for choosing me to take photos you'll always cherish, and best wishes for a memorable and successful year for you both!
